Activities: Villa da Luz is situated on the salt-water lagoon of Bilene which measures 12 km by 1.5 km, with the Indian Ocean just a short distance away across the dunes. The lagoon is one of the few calm bodies of water in Moçambique and we make the most of it. Sailing The lagoon, Lake Uembje, is fast becoming a favourite venue for dingy sailors. The Lake Uembje Sailing Club is planned for the near future and there is a waterfront site planned for the club's home base. And.... Towards the Indian Ocean there is a vast area of dunes which can be explored by quad or ATV over a period of weeks. See Quad Bikes. You can go boating to Bilene for a prawn lunch, you can water ski, you can paddle a canoe, you can sail or windsurf or snorkel or parasail or visit the ocean. Across the dunes the Indian Ocean surf washes pristine beaches which stretch to the horizon in both directions and are usually totally deserted. |
