Pets: Animals can be brought into Moçambique quite easily. A Vet Certificate is required for each animal to be imported. The Vet Certificate can be obtained in South Africa from a Veterinarian. Returning the animal to South Africa, however, is very difficult. When we moved our dog to Moçambique the South African border guard put it quite succinctly when he said, "If we see that dog again we shoot it". On entry into South Africa you will see large signs warning against illegally importing animals or animal products and all returning vehicles are checked thoroughly, sometimes. |
